MacPherson is among the first recipients for the Certified Incentive Travel Professional (CITP) designation

Ellie MacPherson, Senior Vice President, SM+i

Strategic Meetings + Incentives Senior Vice President, Ellie MacPherson, is one of the first recipients around the world to be awarded with the new CITP designation from the Society of Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE). The industry association, which is comprised of more than 2000 members in 29 chapters around the world, developed the CITP designation for planners of incentive travel experiences in both corporations and agencies.

Being awarded with CITP recognizes the recipient’s knowledge in the following areas:

  • Strategic case-making around the business benefits of incentive travel
  • Finance and budgeting
  • Operations and execution
  • Program design and delivery
  • CSR and sustainability

To earn the designation, recipients must work full-time in the business events / MICE industry, possess 40 hours of continuous professional education – of which 25% must be specifically produced by SITE and related to incentive travel – and successfully complete an examination designed to measure and validate performance against typical requirements of an incentive travel professional.
