New Beginnings: Adare Manor reopens after 21-month “transformation”

Filed by: Karen Bradford.

After a closure of nearly 2 years while undergoing a multi-million dollar restoration, conservation and renovation project, Adare Manor has recently opened its doors to outstanding reviews.

670 construction workers were on site daily to undertake this massive project, during which no expense was spared in the details. In addition to restoring the period features from the external walls to the historic listed elements, the renovation also added 42 new bedrooms, a 350-seat ballroom, a cinema, and the first La Mer Spa in Ireland. The Manor is now fully air conditioned as well.  This encompasses only a few of the changes.

The Gallery with its vaulted ceilings, historic tapestries and massive fireplaces has been converted from function space to the locale for breakfast and afternoon tea.

The golf course has been redesigned by Tom Fazio and features a new vacuum drainage system for the greens that will enable water to be taken away quickly, which can be important in Ireland! The course is bidding to host major PGA Tournaments including the Irish Open and the Ryder Cup in 2023.

The new clubhouse is scheduled to reopen in the Spring of 2018.

Guests will also be able to enjoy the newly manicured 840-acre estate’s wide array of activity programs including Fishing, Falconry, Archery, Irish Gun dog Experience, Game Shooting, Horseback Riding, Cycling, Historical Tours and Woodland Walks.

Adare Manor is located 25 minutes from Shannon Airport and is in the charming village of Adare, Co. Limerick. This picturesque and quaint village is your quintessential Ireland experience.  With traditional thatched roof cottages, medieval churches, local pubs, boutique shopping, galleries and craft shops, the village brings the magical Irish experience full circle.
